Maximalism thru color and design will be our future. What will also be our future is sustainability in fashion not thru just materials but how we shop. Buying with longevity in mind, purpose, and quality. How can you do this when you’re incorporating brights? It’s always been thought that buying staple colors allows you to be able to wear things over and over again. However, can we really wear black, white, grey, and camel over and over again without feeling bored? Although, I do own more neutral colors, I can say that for someone who loves minimalism I will feel bored out of my mind just wearing monochromatic colors or a neutral color palette.

Buying cheap Zara or H&M is something I’m working on not doing as much. It’s not easy because frankly I love to wear things that are of the ‘moment’. However, I came to realize that maybe buying a classic silk blouse in fuschia or an interesting print can be so much more rewarding than buying a bright top from Zara that I may wear a few times.

Buying vintage or second hand can also be another form of buying without waste. Buying nice quality vintage pieces that may be a lot cheaper than buying a brand new top from Acne Studios if you’re on a budget.

I love the idea of Color Deco. A palette that is rich in color and can be mixed with interesting material textures, and focusing on craftsmanship. I see a positive future in fashion as we are growing and evolving as a society.

Are you sticking to neutral color palettes? Or are you excited to explore color?
