I noticed over the last several months that being a plant mom and dad is a trend that is growing. You will find fun Tik Tok’s and Reels about plant lovers across the globe filling up their home with plants and they just can’t stop.
Read MoreIt’s been a very long time since I’ve posted on the blog. Wow, the last 30 days have been insanely busy with work. I want to say that since February of this year, it’s been pretty intense with projects.
Read MoreA year ago Easter seemed like a holiday that just came and was never celebrated due to the pandemic. It was nice to celebrate Easter with the family this year socially distanced at a park.
Read More90’s themes have come around again. The pandemic, and the many challenges we’re experiencing this past year seem to keep us looking back to more simpler times of the 90’s.

Read MoreA few years ago, I was working on a collection for a brand, and the President of Sales was pushing espadrilles as a category to design for Spring/Summer.
I put together a bunch of sketches ( see above), and others as well that were not so basic. My goal was to add a little fashion flare to the espadrilles we see out there.
Read MoreOver the last few weeks, we’ve been in sale frenzy. Beautiful shoes marked down to 50%, then 60% and then an additional 15% if it’s not moving fast enough
Something came to me, what about finding another purpose for these shoes? Why wait to put them on sale? What if there was a way to keep your customer curious, and engaged? Read MoreIt’s been a dream of mine to start my own paper goods line featuring shoe illustrations. The inspiration came from my job as a shoe designer, and the void I felt of being creatively restricted by designing shoes for brands. Don’t get me wrong, I love designing shoes, but the purpose was to mainly create product to sell at a retail level for profit. Follow trends, see what other brands are doing, and turn out product was the theme. My strength is the creativity portion of my job and made that my priority in my work. It still had its parameters.

Read MoreOver the last six months I’ve had the opportunity to work with several plant based leathers as well as peta friendly vegan (pu) leathers. I also don’t want to discount leathers because I’ve been working on a shoe project where we are using chrome free leathers out of Italy.
Read MoreOver the weekend, I was looking for something to watch while I paint. I needed something light, and easy. I stumbled upon Emily in Paris on Netflix. I was a little worried as watching an early 20 something year old take photos of herself is not something I can relate to. However, the adventure in Paris sold me. The best time of my life was when I lived in Barcelona so I thought let’s see how this goes.
